Thanks to John Jones and Crew of Madam Wen

"As a member of Holyhead Sailing Club, I would llike to thank fellow member John Jones and his crew from Madam Wen, when we on Vimm ran into difficulties on the Menai Strait on Saturday 23rd May. Without their quick thinking, I do not feel I would be here sat writing this thank you note. Sincere thanks. Sam Armstrong."

Lost and Found - Francis

Yesterday in the foyer of HSC - sitting all alone on the info table - a little yellow duck found by the Hon. Sec.
All on its own - a lovely hand made yellow sparkly woollen little soul. With a tag - Please take me home - so i did.
On his label - his name is Francis - must be fate as we share the same name - spelt differently.
He is to promote blood, tissue and organ donation.
His origin and creator is unkown.
But he has a new home - and will be on my travels with me this next week.
And a newly found duck has been listed on the massive world wide maps of "found ducks" - and a new donator has been registered.
What a lovely, great thing to do.

Dawn (Frances) Russell

Hon Sec

Work progressing on the Club Launches

Geoff (Bosun) and Kim Argyle have been working hard to upgrade the Club Launches for the beginning of the season. Launch #2 is nearing completion; it has had new floor boards fitted, areas of the hull have been re-glassed and the rudder has been welded back together. We are grateful to Nigel Dennis for the use of his factory space for these repairs. We are hoping that #2 will be ready to come back to the club for engine testing later next week. Launch #1 will then be dried out and the pre season repairs carried out.
Thanks again to all involved especially Kim, Geoff and Nigel.

Update on Moorings

The work to the moorings has been progressing well with more chain on the trots. Geoff is working hard to produce the necessary strops and some 40 chains have been completed. Remember to let Geoff know when your boat is due back on your mooring.
