As with a lot of yachts from this era, she is sturdily built with the emphasis on more is better when it comes to GRP layup. Monohull yacht with deep, cast iron fin keel with good ballast ratio.

This yacht has only had 3 owners from new, her present owner, since 2006 has bought a 42ft yacht and is selling Mikki Finn, currently moored at Holyhead Marina. A test sail can be arranged, weather permitting. She is a fast and comfortable cruiser/racer with an impeccable racing pedigree. She will show a clean pair of heels to many more common marques. She has been regularly raced in both round the cans and long distance races such as the “Round Anglesey Race” which she won on handicap one year. She also competed in the IRC Welsh Championships in 2014. IMG_1968.JPG

She is a well equipped yacht with 3 Tacktick wireless instruments heads; the anemometer,  log, depth and compass sensors, innovatively connected to an iPad via onboard wifi, with software created by some of the current crew. The Volvo MD2020 engine/saildrive unit works well and is regularly maintained. There is good access to the saildrive unit from the cockpit floor locker and the engine case has a removable front, top and side panels making oil checks and other maintenance tasks very simple. A new engine control lever was fitted in 2015. The folding prop works well and the yacht is very controllable in reverse. She also comes with a tiller pilot.

Internally there are 5 berths in two cabins with one heads and galley. There is a pressurised water system for water in the heads and galley sink with a filter. The forepeak has under berth storage for sails. The domestic electrical system is connected to 2 batteries with a 3rd engine battery. These are charged through a smart charging system and an inverter for shore power.

Topside Mikki Finn has 10 winches 2 Genoa winches, 2 Spinnaker winches and 4 halyard winches. The stainless steel standing rigging was checked in 2014 when the mast was lifted out. The forestay is a twin luff, Stearns Twinstay one which can be converted to roller furling; the bearings were replaced in 2015. The spinnaker pole cable and bungee was replaced in 2015 along with deck handlers, halyard blocks and spinnaker sheets and guys.

Over winter of 2014/2015 she was grit blasted and re-epoxy coated from the waterline to the base of the keel and all the hull checked. She has been re-antifouled June 2016 and comes with the remaining period of this year's moorings fees paid.
